Never Let GoUncommon Justice #1By Elizabeth GoddardWillow Anderson isn't sure she'll ever be as good as her Grandfather, or as good as he thought she was, but she's determined to close out his last case. But the case he took just before his death is different than any they had ever before taken on. As a forensic genealogist, Willow is used to tracking down records and finding long-lost family connections but Anderson Consulting has never before taken on a cold case abduction.Worse someone seems intent on stopping Willow before she can even get started. Is it mere coincidence or is someone truly targeting Willow?Learning that her grandfather reached out to her ex-boyfriend Austin McKade for his assistance on this case is an unexpected complication. For the two years following their devastating breakup, they've managed to avoid seeing one another but they now find themselves working together. Secrets kept have a way of dividing and Austin's past was a topic of non-disclosure - the wounds of his childhood and his father's death went too deep.Time is running out to solve a 21-year-old case in which a newborn was abducted mere hours after birth. Is Jamie still alive? And what clues can they find when the police and FBI could find no traces when the case was fresh? This is a book that will take you on a rollercoaster as the case progresses and the danger continually builds to a climax that is sure to keep the pages turning. The book is marked as being the first in Uncommon Justice series so I'm interested to see how this plays out. Will it follow Austin and Willow? Or will Austin's brothers take central roles? Will Anderson Consulting be a common denominator? The characters were engaging and well worth getting to know. And as to the perpetrator's identity that is a well-twisted excursion that will misdirect the reader a time or two until the conclusion!

If mystery and suspense, with a splash of clean romance, is your thing, you’re going to love this book. Just finished Never Let Go! Loved it! So many twists and turns. Woke up at 2 this morning and couldn’t get back to sleep so, I got up and read. It was definitely worth no sleep. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

"Never Let Go" by Elizabeth Goddard is the first in the Uncommon Justice series. The story is about Willow Anderson a forensic genealogist who decides to finish the job her grandfather's death left behind which is the case of a woman who was kidnapped as a newborn from her mother. And of course, it has the standard stereotypical romance of the main character and old flame, in this case, one named Austin McKade. The first couple chapters were pretty good then it got confusing in the middle and really got confusing right near the end. I am still not completely sure of the ending but the story might be more clear in the next book. The story had potential but why can't Chrisitan mystery authors just leave the romance section out. That was what was the main issue I had with this story is it was just like what seems like every other Christian mystery where good potential story but the main character are either newly met soon to be couple or a former couple who now thanks to this mystery will get back together (no I am not giving anything way its the normal of these style of books). I will recommend if that is what you are looking for me I just want a good mystery with no romance.I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell a division of Baker Publishing Group. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

" Willow, we're branches on tree. We grow in many directions, but we're always connected to our roots, whether we're ware of it or not. " JT Anderson, Never Let Go Willow Anderson and her Grandfather JT Anderson own and ran Anderson Consulting, a Forensic Genealogy firm. They help the living find both the living and the dead. Now that her grandfather has passed away she has some decisions to make. Will she continue running the business on her own or hire someone share the load? Or will she close up and decide what direction she wants to take next? While going through her grandfathers desk she discovered that he only had one open case that he was working on. It was a missing person case. Mrs. Mason wanted to find her daughter whom was kidnapped right from her hospital room hours after her birth 21 years ago. She has looked many times over the years by hiring private detectives and contacting the FBI with no luck. Now time is of the essence as she only has 2 months to live,3 at the time she had contacted JT. She wanted JT to work a miracle for her, to let her be able to tell Jamie that she has never stopped looking for her. Dana ( JT's assistant now Willow's) encouraged her to take some time and just mourn. But once she watched the videos from JT's interviews with her, she knew she had to try and solve this one. So she gathered the all the info and headed home to her Grandfather's house. She was so tired that she laid down and fell asleep instantly. She woke up in the middle night coughing from thick black smoke. The house was on fire. When rescued she realized that everything she had was gone. Her grandfather, her home, everything was taken. Except her life. And she is grateful. While Willow was getting treatment in the ER she looked up at one point and Austin McCade was in her room. Austin is ex-FBI, her ex and loved by her Grandfather. Austin was getting his updates about the fire from a friend at the FBI and notified him where she was. Her status was unknown so he proceeded to the hospital, he needed to see that she was ok. JT had contacted Austin before he died that he needed Austin's help, but JT never said what he needed so he had to wait until Willow was up to talking. A kidnapping case, that is what JT wanted him to help Willow with. And He knew he would help her. JT knew that he would never want to be a part of another kidnapping case and why. That was a big part of why he left the FBI. After some bumpy moments together Willow and JT decided that they would work this case together and hoped to solve the final case her Grandfather was working on. Between her grandfather's death, the house fire and an attempt on Willow and Dana's life at the office. (That too!) They have a distinct feeling someone does not want this last case to be solved. Willow and Austin work together to find Jamie Mason and hopefully answer the questions of who killed her grandfather and made attempts to stop her from investigating. That was not going to happen.I received my ARC and am blessed to have been a part of this ahead of release day. Thank you Mrs. Goddard for allowing me to participate.I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher. All opinions in this review are my own.
